Getting Started & Account Setup

  • Just visit onwordstories.com and click “Get Started.” You’ll be guided through a quick setup to create your account and choose a plan.

  • Yes! A single parent account can support multiple child profiles, each with their own personalized reading journey.

  • At this time, we do not offer a free trial. However, you can explore sample stories and features on our website to get a feel for how OnWord works before subscribing.

  • Go to Settings, then Account Settings, and click “Take me to the billing portal.” From there, follow the steps to make your desired changes, including changing or canceling your subscription.

  • We want you to feel confident about your subscription. OnWord offers a full refund within 14 days of your first payment if you’re not satisfied. To keep things fair, refunds are available as long as no more than 5 stories have been read or completed during that period. After 14 days, subscriptions are non-refundable, but you can cancel anytime and continue using OnWord until the end of your current billing cycle.

Devices & Technical Support

  • OnWord works on most modern browsers (Chrome, Safari, Edge, Firefox) and devices including desktops, laptops, Chromebooks, iPads, and Android tablets.

  • Not yet, but you can use OnWord directly from your browser on mobile or tablet.

  • First, try resetting your password using the “Forgot Password” link. If issues persist, contact us at support@onwordstories.com.

  • OnWord is currently web-based and requires an internet connection.

  • OnWord is built for kids in K–5th grade, with content spanning early readers through more advanced comprehension levels.

  • Kids choose their favorite topics, and our AI generates engaging stories at just the right reading level, with vocabulary and comprehension questions tailored to their needs.

  • Each story includes a set of questions based on Bloom’s Taxonomy and Webb’s Depth of Knowledge—from basic recall to deeper analysis—designed to improve understanding and critical thinking.

  • Yes, our comprehension and vocabulary skills are aligned with Common Core, Florida BEST, and other foundational literacy standards.

  • We offer dyslexia-friendly fonts to support diverse learners.

Assessment & Progress Tracking

  • We use guided reading levels and lexiles.

  • Absolutely. Parents and educators have access to a dashboard showing reading stats, comprehension growth, and vocabulary milestones.

  • Yes. Educator accounts include real-time access to individual and group-level progress, comprehension scores, and engagement trends.

Privacy & Safety

  • Yes, OnWord fully complies with COPPA and other child data privacy laws. We prioritize safety in everything we build.

  • We collect only the information necessary to create and personalize your child’s experience—never more. We do not sell or share personal data.

  • All data is encrypted and stored securely. We follow strict security protocols and only use data to improve your child’s learning journey.

  • Yes. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from your account settings or by contacting our support team.

For Parents & Educators

  • Let your child choose topics that interest them, sit with them during story time when possible, and check their progress through the dashboard.

  • Yes, educators can sign up for a teacher account, which gives them access to classroom tools and student tracking features.

  • Definitely. OnWord works well in small groups, after-school programs, independent reading time, and one-on-one tutoring. Contact us to learn more about bulk or institutional pricing.
